Obedience Training For Dogs Should Include Bark Control
Your dog can cause you sleepless nights by barking his head off for no reason. You may have to deal with not only angry inmates but also neighbors who wish to be undisturbed. They may decide to report this nuisance to the authorities so it is in your best interests to Stop Dog Barking by using the bark control collars on the dog to train him to keep quiet. Learn to differentiate between protective barking and unnecessary barking when training your dog.
When your puppy begins to grow, he does not realize that his bark is strong and not a yip anymore. The dog barks at the slightest movement or sound that it hears. The dog bark control collars have an electronic built-in device that gives the dog a mild shock when he barks aloud. The static pulse is very mild and shocks just enough to stop dog barking. After a few barks, the dog realizes that it is the bark that is setting off these shocks so he stops barking unnecessarily. Once the dog is trained, you will not have to use the bark collar permanently. It can be on for about 8 to 10 hours when you wish to have quiet and ensure that everyone else around is also undisturbed.
The mild static shocks are similar to the static electricity that passes through us when we shuffle over the carpet and then touch something. The dog senses that it is their bark that triggers this sensation so they avoid barking. It is important to choose the right size as shock collars are available for every size of dogs. Smaller dogs have a tendency to bark more often. Make sure that the bark control collar fit is snug and not too tight to ensure maximum comfort for your pet.
There are newer inventions with regard to dog training collars that are being introduced everyday to help to stop dog barking. Apart from the sonic products, you can even use an ultrasonic bark control device to stop your neighbor’s pesky dog from yapping his head off continuously. The microphones in the anti bark device picks up the barking and registers it. The ultrasonic device then emits a corrective sound that cannot be heard by humans. It distracts sufficiently to stop dog barking.
Spray dog collars are also available in different scented or unscented mists that can deter dogs that are scent-driven. Dogs follow their noses sniffing along the ground as they move. These spray collars let off the mist which discourages them from barking. The sensation of the spray and the smell are great deterrents for barking dogs. These anti bark collars are cost effective and do not require high maintenance. Look for products that have safety features built into the devices. Research on the subject of bark control e-collars indicate that the energy delivered is approximately 2 volts and this is at the rate of 20 milliamps, which does not cause harm, but is highly effective to stop dog barking.

Despite training, Schipperke puppy acts poorly on leash (Palm Beach Post)
**Question**: I have a 6-month-old puppy who has been through two sets of
puppy classes. She is a Schipperke. Sometimes, when she encounters people
and/or dogs, she barks like crazy, growls and works herself into a frenzy.
Sometimes, she notices them, but does nothing. There is no rhyme or reason to
the people or dogs. The instructor at my dog training facility says not to
worry right now, that she is young. Should I be concerned? How is the best way
to handle this behavior without reinforcing it? – Lori
**Answer**: Leash reactivity is very common. Some dogs are fearful and they
react to repel stimuli. If this was the case with your dog, she would show
fear in other ways as well. For example, when people reach for her, she would
put her tail down, her ears back and cower. Some dogs are frustrated because
they want to get to the person or dog to greet them, but they can’t because
they are leashed. As a result, they get agitated and start to bark.
In either case, control is the first step. To get control, work on your dog’s
basic obedience and use …
