Learn How to Teach Your Dog to Be at His Best Behavior – Dog Training Strategies Used for Dog Training Treats to Reward Good Dog Behavior

Dogs are like people, in terms of how they view treats. If giving people things they like makes them more determined to complete a task, giving dog training treats to your pooch whenever he does something right, will motivate him to repeat that good behavior. Though some dogs are easily motivated when praised by their owners, more pooches prefer to be given a dog training reward for them to respond positively to their trainer or their owners.

Giving dog training treats to a dog that has done something good is a part of positive dog training. When training your dog and you see that he followed your command, or he responded positively, it is a must to give him dog training treats as a way to motivate him to continue following your orders, or for him to view what he earlier did as something positive that he should repeat.

A Chew Bone is a good example of a dog training reward you can use. You may also use praise as a form of reward. However, faster results are said to arise when you immediately give your pooch dog training treats compared to merely praising him for behaving properly.

Examples of good treats for dogs aside from the above mentioned chew bone include: your dog’s favorite toy, special food for your pooch, and so on.

Here is how you can use positive dog training when training your dog:

1. Prepare the treats and place them in your pocket or in a container you easily have access to during training.

2. Next, command your pooch. The most common commands are: ‘Sit’, ‘Stay’, ‘Fetch’, and the likes.

3. While commanding your dog, hold the dog training treats in your hands where your pet can see them.

4. Keep on repeating the command while showing her the treats, but make sure that those treats are out of your dog’s reach.

5. As soon as your pooch follows your order, immediately give him a piece of treat and follow it up with praise.

6. Repeat the procedure for a couple of times. Don’t forget to give your furry friend a dog training reward whenever he successfully performs your order.

7. Do the procedure again for the succeeding days to ensure that your pooch remembers what you have taught him.

Dog training treats may also be used during activities that do not fall under the category of training your dog. For instance, if you are about to give your pooch vitamins or medication, and you notice that your pooch tries to escape or to hide, you can make use dog training reward to make your dog look forward to medicine or vitamin intake.

After successfully giving your pooch the medication, you can give him a tasty treat. Do that every time your pooch drinks vitamins, or medicine, for your pet to learn that vitamin or medication drinking can be a pleasant experience.

When training your dog, another important tip in positive dog training is to eventually replace those dog training treats with praises, so that your dog will learn not to always expect dog training reward after your pooch obeys you. From time to time, you can reinforce by handing out dog training treats to your doggie, but, once you see that your pet once again obeys you continuously, stick once more to praise giving instead of treat giving.

Positive dog training really works. When utilizing dog training treats, however, you should make sure that those treats vary. It is best to combine dog training reward with treat giving. You also have to give your pooches good quality treats. Want to learn how to teach your dog to be at his best behavior?

until she gets all wound up. Here she is half way through the process rubbing
