What Makes You Bugged May Possibly Be The Tick Of Your Own Doggy
It would really piss you off if your beloved best canine friend is infected with a tick and its infecting your home too. It may be gross just by thinking of it. But what really pisses me off is when my wonderful pug gets the tick from some other dog. Cherry B, my beautiful dog has the tick and I’m so sad that I can’t have her in my bed with me.
A friendly advice to dog lovers out there, don’t ever think that your dog is immune to ticks just because they don’t run around in the farm. What you can do to prevent this is to isolate them from other dogs which you do not know. Also you can make use of an antie-flea solution and brush your dog with it in a weekly interval. There are other solutions that can last a month. Do not hesitate to inquire from your veterinarian about the best prevention care that you can give to your dog.
If so ever you happen to spot a tick, remove it immediately. There is the right way however on how to do it; doing it wrong will only hurt your canine friend. Improper removal may cause the dog to have bacterial infection. Also, never, ever, remove the tick with your bare hands. There are some disease-carrying ticks that you might want to avoid.
As for my cherry B, I was not aware of any dog tick medicine that I can give her. So I had to take her to the vet.
The vet gave my Cherry B Newton Homeophatics Flea and Bug Bite for her tick bites; this is a syrup solution. The dog tick medicine that her vet gave her is Frontline Plus for the duration of six months; quite a long time frankly. But I was told Cherry B can get back to my bed in three days tops, just to be sure the tick won’t get to me. I don’t think I can drink Frontline Plus.
Since this has happened, I have to get rid of my ultra fragrant dog shampoo and resort to using Ovitrol Plus Flea and Tick Shampoo as prevention. Not as fragrant but safe for me and Cherry B.
There are also anti-tick collars for your dog which acts as a dog tick medicine. However, I heard it’s not very effective and it’s not very fashionable as well so I don’t think I’d go that far. My beloved Cherry B has gone through a lot already and I don’t ant to choke her.
