In addition to the hassle of getting through checkpoints there is the huge cost of checking luggage onto a airplane. This means that a lot of people aren’t going to tote enough things to be happy when they arrive. Can you imagine the cost of checking tents, backpacks, coolers, heaters and all the items we outdoorsman bring? The whole concept of camping is being outdoors and being cheap.
So all that being said what are we to do? I’m pretty sure you will soon find out about a thing called a hitch cargo carrier. These amazing items are life savers! Whether you have a Sports utility Vehicle or a normal car you will be able to use a hitch cargo carrier. This page will help you find what to look for.
Just say you didn’t have a hitch on your car. (quite a number of Trucks now days contain hitches). If you don’t have a hitch you will want to find the local auto parts store and tell them you would like one installed. Its very affordable.
The back has the hitch on your vehicle and you need a hitch cargo carrier. Now what you have to do is seek the weight limit of your hitch. Just look in the owners pamphlet of the hitch or the vehicle if the hitch was installed by the manufacturer. Typically the weight limit is approximately from 300 to 600 lbs.

Biking 190 miles with Hiking Backpack?
I’m planning a trip this summer and will be using my Specialized Allez Race Bike. Seeing that I can’t hook up a basket, is it ridiculous to use a hiking backpack that stores my clothes and tent and other stuff in? I’m riding halfway to my cabin, camping, then riding the other half and then back (same process). Is there any other way to attach some kind of carrier to the back of my bike for my back’s sake?
You can put a rack on anything. If you don’t have mounting points you can make some with P clamps. You do not want to ride that distance with a back pack. Have your bike shop put a rack on your bike.
